The weather here is decidedly cooler and feeling like autumn. I actually walked around the neighborhood this morning. It is very hard to bring myself to walk during the spring, summer, and early fall months here since the heat and humidity of south Texas are rather off-putting.
This time of year I am in the mood to cook chili and make homemade breads. Apple pie doesn't sound too bad either! Funny how the memories and associations of life center around food so much. When the weather changes, we simply want certain comfort foods. I would rarely consider making a pot of chili in July.

I have been busy rebuilding our company website (veloc-it.com) and attending to my other work-related duties.
As for home: I am busy sewing costumes this week. S needs a costume for All Saints day at school. She originally wanted to be Saint Matilda but then changed her mind and decided to be an angel. Then I am making her a dress to wear to the Texas Renaissance Festival in a couple of weeks. The Renaissance costume is quite a bit more complicated and elaborate than the angel costume.

While flying to San Francisco this week, I had the great fortune to view the Rockie's and their snow from the comfort of a Southwest Airlines window seat.

I recommended this book to my cousin who has been suffering a string of misfortunate relationships with women. I thought it would be nic ...

We finally have some cool weather here. This morning felt great. It was 58 degrees outside! I will enjoy it while I can since it is supposed to get up to 85 today and since we live on the Gulf Coast, it will feel more like 90. Sometimes I yearn to live where there are "real" seasons like autumn.
This week finds me knee deep in work and dealing with my daughter's school and extracurricular activities. My day planner comes in quite handy to keep track of it all. I am still working on building this website back again to its former glory but that has to be sandwiched in to all my other commitments.

I have been sadly negligent in bringing my blog back to life. Back in June, due to an unfortunate hacking of the server and a subsequent revelation that the data back-ups were flawed, I lost all my content from the past two years. So here I am with a brand new website running on DotNetNuke and I hope to start posting more frequently.
